So... What's New?

The arrest and subsequent guilty plea of former IYFW promoter Scott Scarsdale to child porn charges certainly spurred me on to digging up the log in information for this page in recent weeks. That being said, over the years, I've kept a mostly lazy eye on local, upstate NY-area independent wrestling.

What promotions are hot and fun right now?

I think it's safe to suggest that In Your Face Wrestling won't be making a return in the next, oh, 5-20 years.

It's sad, but I think WOHW is dead*.

XWA appears to be putting on fun shows in Pittsfield, MA!

Immortal Championship Wrestling appears to be going strong! Solid social media presence, thats for sure.

When they aren't threatening legal action against AEW, is The Dynasty** still a thing?

Who is killing it right now?

*edit: holy shit, wait! Not dead!

**edit: They ARE still a thing! That's exciting.

Details on the Scarsdale Arrest

Wrestlefudge.com has obtained the criminal complaint document that lead to the arrest -- and ultimately the conviction -- of former local IYFW promoter, Scott Scarsdale (Weinbloom).

Scarsdale is set to be sentenced to prison on June 6th for a maximum sentence of 20 years as well as monetary damages and supervised probation.

The details enclosed in this complaint have the potential to be upsetting and distressing.

Scarsdale had a reputation for airing other people's dirty laundry. He often did so in an attempt to ruin his rivals personal/professional lives. That is not why we are sharing them here.

We feel the fans and performers have the right to know.

We will have coverage of his sentencing next week.

Down Goes Scarsdale

After his arrest in May 2022 on Possession of Child Pornography, Scott Weinbloom, more notoriously known as local independent wrestling promoter, Scott Scarsdale, plead guilty to those charges in February of this year.

Up to 20 years in prison.

He is due to be sentenced on June 6th.

We will be there.

If anything could drag us out of retirement... it's karma being herself.
More to come.
