IYFW Memories, Moments, and Mayhem PREVIEW/PREDICTIONS

Just a few short days away, In Your Face Wrestling will present their (actual and factual) biggest show ever on quite a stage. Coinciding with Amsterdam's Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame Induction Weekend and emanating from the same building the inductions will take place the next night, IYFW's "Memories, Moments, and Mayhem" has a LOT of the card set and some VERY exciting matches lined hp! Now.. there was a fair amount of controversy surrounding this show when it was first announced that has since cooled. For the sake of full disclosure, the PWHF isn't endorsing IYFW's show (after backing out on an agreement to the contrary) and is instead running a show fifteen minutes north featuring guys like Robbie E, Shark Boy, and a bunch of talent that no one in this area has heard of (no offense intended, but it's a fact). At this point, months after peeing on the grave of Davey O'Hannon's career (PWHF Board member, crony, and resident bitter elder), I'm willing to wish the show well. Go get 'em guys. I'm sure they'll draw a crowd. But I doubt they'll be HALF as loud as the Heel Section™ alone.

Nor will they see anything as entertaining as what WE will see... Speaking of which...

"The GENIUS" LANNY POFFO is expected to open the event with a poem...
Yup, the brother of the MACHO MAN will be in the building! I saw footage via facebook of a recent match between Poffo and Jay Lethal and, I have to say, Poffo is holding up just fine! The man has some size to him and still seems pretty polished, overall. Following "The Millenium Millionnaire" Scott Scarsdale's latest promo and one of the last lines he delivers in it, I have a feeling that there will be some sort of scuffle between Poffo and Blood Money that will lead to an impromptu - and brief - match involving Poffo and Blood Money (Scarsdale, Anthony and Coleman). I predict Poffo comes out on top to set the tone for the Hall of Fame weekend event. Wondering if it will be a tag or six-man affair and, if so, who they'd pair with Poffo. Perhaps... The reigning IYFW Tag Champs?
Paul's Prediction: Poffo

Women's Feature Match
MISTRESS BELMONT vs BARBIE
I'm going to say it... I generally don't go to wrestling shows to see women's wrestling matches, however I have really grown to appreciate it more as of late as I've slowly dug into the women's indy scene. I'm excited to see these two gals go at it and think it will provide a different kind of flavor to the overall event. Apparently, these two have gone at it before which should make for a more polished encounter.
Paul's Prediction: Barbie

IYFW New Breed CHAMPIONSHIP -- 4-Way Match
LIAM McFERRIN (C) vs ? vs ? vs ?
They haven't announced his opponents yet. Personally I'm hoping for Foxx Vinyer, Ian Daniels, and some Good Lord Willing (or Etanna) action! Don't expect Big Irish to drop his newly won strap so soon...
Paul's Prediction: Liam McFerrin

Grudge Match
VIGO vs "The PILLAR" ROMAN DOMINGUEZ
I'll keep this short and sweet despite the fact that this match will be NEITHER of those things. My instincts tell me that both of these gentlemen will be looking to steal the show with this match. Both men are hard hitting and both men leave it all out there. This will be a closely contested match loaded with near falls. Yet after the smoke clears, only one man will remain. Pretty badass, eh?
Paul's Prediction: Roman Dominguez

Tag Team Attraction
MICHAEL MONROE and CJ SCOTT vs NORTHERN STUDD and The BULL
This is an interesting match for a few reasons. Monroe stole a victory over Studd back in March with a handful of tights and Studd wants retribution. Monroe wants to make it interesting and adds the recently re-signed "Wolf" CJ Scott to the mix ... which leads to the Northern Studd turning to the only man he can trust, friend and former tag partner, The Bull! These guys were the very first IYFW Tag Champions and have both done quite a bit to keep independent wrestling alive and interesting across the border in Vermont. These FOUR men all have histories both in IYFW and Slam All-Star Wrestling and have probably logged countless hours against each other in various forms and formats over the years. To add to the subtle drama, The Bull is slated to wrestle his VERY LAST MATCH the VERY NEXT NIGHT at a Slam show back in Vermont. This match will surprise a few people, I think.
Paul's Prediction: The Bull and the Studd

Clash of Titans
VAL VENIS vs "The Mighty" FRONZ RODDY
I'm just going to say it: Fronz Roddy hasn't been lucky between bells as of late. His opponent on this night is a former WWE Intercontinental, European, and Tag Team Champion. He has wrestled quite literally ALL over the globe and has always been a rock solid performer who seems able to adapt to any style. Despite the undeniable talent and ability of Fronz Roddy, no one is expecting Fronz to have his arm raised. I'll assume that Val will be rocking the babyface gimmick Friday night (bell time is 8pm, it's primetime! PG-13 rating, here we come!) and also assume that Fronz will be as hateable as ever, god bless him. Win or lose, this is absolutely the biggest match in the career of "The Mighty One", and he said as much on our BLOGCAST (episode 10, pt.2) My gut tells me that Val will get the nod, but you know what? That's not what I want.
Paul's Hopeful Prediction: Fronz Roddy

The IN YOUR FACE RUMBLE
(winner faces PIERRE VACHON for IYFW CHAMPIONSHIP later that night)
If you've ever read this blog, then you know I am a big fan of a well done battle royal. I got my taste of IYFW's brand of rumble match last August and enjoyed the match even if everyone else didn't. I don't care WHO wins this match, I just want to see EVERYBODY. I want to see SuperBeast back in an IYFW ring! I want to see Foxx Vinyer's training videos pay off! I want to see Ian Daniels top his "Many Faces of Anarchy" run! I want to see Roman Dominguez out-smart the match one more time (I'll save you a seat, Roman)! I want to see the Rickety Rockett do what he does and come MIRACULOUSLY CLOSE to actually winning the damn thing! I want to cheer on Bobby O and throw a thumbs down in Scott Scarsdale's direction! I want to see Pure Dynamite and Michael Anthony and Rocco Perelli! I want to see CJ Scott eliminated by his nose hair this time and see the debut if new, up and coming IYFW talent! And I don't even care who wins. I know that the winner goes on to get an IYFW Championship match later on the same night... But I don't even care who it is. I just know its going to be a crazy, fun ride to get there. And I also know that whoever it is doesn't stand a chance against The Beast. What I'd RATHER not see is a handful of oddball talent unfamiliar to IYFW fans. Rumor has it that a lot of guys wanted in the rumble. I just hope I recognize most, if not ALL, of them. This shouldn't simply be a chance to give a buddy a booking on a high profile show and should, in my ever-so-humble opinion, showcase the In Your Face roster to the fullest.
Paul's Prediction: Geez... Going with the longshot. I'm going with THE ROCKETT.

MAIN EVENT / "INTERNATIONAL COMBAT" TAG MATCH
BOBBY OCEAN and DRAKE EVANS vs BOBBY FISH and FIT FINLAY
Not much to say about this match other than: Wow. This should be high octane, stiff, and very hot. I'm thinking all competitors will approach this match from a respect standpoint with no clear party playing the heel role to start things off. By the end of the match, that might change, but I am looking towards this match as potential match of the night. I've never seen Bobby Fish live and look forward to seeing my fellow Saratoga Springs native in action! Finlay wrestled a match on last weekends Ring of Honor iPPV that wasn't received positively by those who saw it yet this tag match will protect him and actually really highlight what this guy can STILL do! I am predicting some hard hitting stuff from he and Drake and a lot of lightening quick action from Fish and Ocean. But... In the end...
Paul's Prediction: Evans and Ocean

Can't wait for the show and hope to see you there! Come and say hello. You'll know us when you see us. Just look for the large group of dudes and gals rocking Official Wrestlefudge gear (and ask us how YOU can get some!) Have a fun, safe weekend!
